Building A Legacy North, a collaboration of CHBA Northern BC and Community Energy Association, is bringing another in-person, quality training opportunity for building professionals in Northwestern BC.
Retrofits can be complex! Upgrading one aspect of a home will affect many other aspects of the building because, a house operates as "a system".
Bonus content: a one-hour introduction to the Zero Carbon Step Code - what is it and why is it important? This will provide a high level overview and will provide a lead into a more fulsome exploration to this topic at an in-person workshop in Prince George on November 13, 2024. More information and register here.
Join instructor Shawn Wiebe for a presentation of the Home Performance Stakeholder Council's (HPSC's) Retrofitting with a House as a System Approach. Learn the fundamental building science concepts that will allow you to more confidently carry out an energy retrofit using a systematic approach. The presentation will be supported with slides, participant discussion and a set of hands-on wall, window, and roof mock-ups to encourage understanding of the course content.
Are your clients interested in accessing Provincial rebates for their heat pump installs, insulation upgrades or window and door retrofits? This course is included in the mandatory qualification criteria for the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN), the network of contractors that homeowners must hire from to access retrofit rebates from the Province of BC and utility providers.
